Envirocatalysts is looking for a skilled Meteorologist. The selected candidate will contribute to weather and power demand forecasting models, atmospheric dispersion studies, and the integration of meteorological insights into air quality dynamics. The successful candidate will help us build data products that shape the air pollution, energy transition and industrial decarbonisation trajectory for India. We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated individual with strong leadership qualities, capable of taking initiative and delivering results with minimal supervision.
Do you have hands-on experience with Coding, Python, R, or similar tools to develop meteorological models, forecast power demand, and analyze air quality data?
Are you skilled in accessing, cleaning, and interpreting satellite, reanalysis, and observational meteorological datasets?
Can you develop or apply air quality forecasting and dispersion models (e.g., WRF-Chem, Calpuff etc.) and visualize output effectively for decision-making?
Are you passionate about applying atmospheric science to tackle air pollution, climate challenges, and public health risks?

Job Description
As a Meteorologist, you will play a key role in analyzing weather and atmospheric data to support air quality forecasting, power demand forecasting, pollution dispersion modelling, and climate-related research. Your work will help stakeholders understand how meteorological factors influence pollution dynamics, power demand and generation & inform science-based interventions. You will be responsible for running forecasting models, integrating meteorological and air quality datasets, interpreting results, and contributing to reports, dashboards, and scientific studies.
Responsibilities
Conduct meteorological and atmospheric modelling to support air pollution studies and forecasts.
Analyze meteorological data (e.g., wind speed, temperature, humidity, inversion layers) and their interaction with air pollutant dynamics.
Integrate weather forecasting models with air quality models.
Develop and refine real-time or near-real-time forecasting tools to predict air pollution episodes.
Prepare technical reports, policy briefs, and research papers for internal and external stakeholders.
Represent Envirocatalysts at external conferences, meetings, and media interactions.
Support additional tasks as required by the organization.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Master’s (M.Tech/M.Sc.) or Ph.D. in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in air pollution research, atmospheric modelling, or weather forecasting.
Strong command over meteorological modelling tools and platforms (e.g., WRF, HYSPLIT, etc.).
Experience working with high-resolution meteorological or air quality datasets.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deliver results.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in air quality, energy transition, and industrial decarbonization research.
Experience with power demand forecasting and its correlation with meteorological parameters.
Location
The Meteorologist will be based in New Delhi, India, and is expected to be able to travel occasionally.

This is a full-time position requiring a long-term commitment, initially offered as a 12-month contract with the expectation of extension.
