Job Description

EnviroCatalysts is seeking a passionate and skilled Project Associate to join our dynamic team working at the intersection of clean air, transport, and data analytics. The selected candidate will help drive evidence-based action, strengthen government capacity, and advance policies to improve India’s air quality and urban governance. 

The position requires strong field coordination and data management skills, along with the ability to engage effectively with government officials, technical teams and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the collection, validation, and management of operational data of concerned local bodies from multiple sources ensuring accuracy and integrity.  

  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies and initiate timely corrective actions. 

  • Act as an independent consultant to support day‑to‑day monitoring and smooth operations of concerned ULBs, including independent technical review, data management, project performance monitoring, and technology‑enabled oversight across municipal functions. 

  • Provide support to the head office team in Delhi as and when required for programme implementation. 

  • Conduct policy‑relevant research on transport, energy, and air quality, including data analysis and reporting as directed by the head office. 

  • Draft briefing notes, analytical outputs, and reports under tight deadlines. 

  • Engage with government stakeholders and external partners to foster collaboration and drive effective action. 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.  

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in environmental projects/soild waste management projects or any related discipline.   

  • Willingness and ability to travel across Punjab and Delhi as required by project needs. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior experience in solid waste management and other ULB-related functions. 

  • Proficiency in Punjabi. 

  • Familiarity with digital data collection tools. 

  • Working knowledge of NCAP, SBM-U, or AMRUT schemes and their reporting requirements at city/district level. 

  • Demonstrated experience working with or alongside local government bodies, ULBs, Municipal Corporations, or state departments 

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government, contractors, and ULB officials. 

  • Strong understanding of municipal data systems and regulatory environments. 

  • Ability to translate field insights into structured outputs and actionable recommendations. 

  • Proactive problem-solving approach with high ownership and execution focus. 

  • Interest in environmental sustainability, air quality management, and solid waste management initiatives. 

Location

The ‘Project Associate’ will be based out of Mohali / Amritsar/Patiala/Chandigarh, India. Must be able to travel occasionally.
