Envirocatalysts is seeking a passionate and skilled Research Associate to join our dynamic team working at the intersection of clean air, transport, energy, and data analytics. The selected candidate will help drive evidence-based action, strengthen government and industry capacity, and advance policies to improve India’s air quality.

Envirocatalysts is a dynamic research and advisory think tank dedicated to accelerating the clean energy transition through data-driven insights and policy solutions. We analyse air quality, energy, and industrial decarbonization datasets to drive climate action and improve air quality. Our work serves policymakers, journalists, NGOs, and academics at the intersection of environment, energy, health, and livelihoods.
Responsibilities
Support the development of strategies for Envirocatalysts’ Clean Air Research aligned with national and institutional priorities.
Support and conduct policy-relevant research on transport, energy, and air quality, including data analysis and reporting.
Manage projects and coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Draft briefing notes, policy documents, and analytical outputs under tight deadlines.
Engage with government stakeholders and external partners to drive collaborative action.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree (M.Tech/M.Sc./MA) in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geography or a related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in air pollution, energy, or transport research.
Strong understanding of air quality policy frameworks and data infrastructure in India.
Proficiency in statistical/spatial tools (R/Python an advantage).
Excellent project management, research, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in air quality, transport and energy transition.
The ‘Research Associate’ will be based out of New Delhi, India. Must be able to travel occasionally.

This is a full-time position requiring a long-term commitment, initially offered as a 12-month contract with the expectation of extension.
