The lack of focused action on industrial pollution under the NCAP framework has been identified as a major gap affecting India’s air-quality goals. To address this issue, a two-day National Consultation titled “Combating Industrial Emissions: Forging a Cleaner Industrial Future with NCAP 2.0” was convened by the Centre for Science and Environment.
Senior officials from central and state pollution control bodies participated, along with experts from leading institutions and think tanks. Key gaps in data, monitoring, regulation and implementation were discussed, and best practices were explored to strengthen industrial emission control as part of a more ambitious NCAP 2.0.
