Delhi's push for clear air: No tax on EVs up to Rs 30 lakh, only electric 2-wheelers from April 2028

Delhi has proposed a new electric vehicle (EV) policy to cut air pollution by encouraging people to switch from petrol and diesel vehicles. It offers tax exemptions, subsidies, and cash incentives to make EVs cheaper, including no road tax or registration fees for many EVs.

The policy also gives extra money for scrapping old polluting vehicles and buying electric ones, while setting deadlines to phase out petrol vehicles in some categories.

Overall, it aims to make EVs more affordable, expand charging infrastructure, and reduce pollution in Delhi by speeding up the shift to clean transport.
