52 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना, फिर भी धधक रहे कूड़े के ढेर

Despite imposing fines totaling ₹52.36 crore and issuing 7,705 challans for illegal garbage dumping across Haryana, open-air waste disposal and burning remain unchecked. Out of 87 urban bodies divided into 11 clusters for waste management, scientific processing facilities exist in only a small fraction, leaving 16 dumpsites operating without valid permissions. Government plans—including waste-to-energy and biogas projects—remain largely pending or delayed, contributing to severe winter air pollution and visual impairment across the region.
