Alternative fuel relaxation extended

The CAQM has extended a temporary measure allowing businesses in the Delhi-NCR region to use alternative fuels, including diesel and biomass, due to ongoing disruptions in the supply of natural gas from West Asia. While this offers short-term relief, environmental experts and clean-energy advocates warn that industries remain too reliant on fossil fuels. They are urging a swift transition towards solar power and the electrification of industrial manufacturing—such as using electric furnaces and induction heating—to secure a more stable energy supply and significantly reduce regional air pollution.
