Another toxic day as sun can’t snap Delhi’s severe-plus streak

Delhi’s air stayed extremely polluted for several days, with the city recording “severe-plus” air quality (around an AQI of 460) for the fourth day in a row, despite bright sunshine that morning. The smog was caused by slow winds, cooler temperatures and smoke from nearby farm fires, trapping pollutants close to the ground and making the air dangerously toxic for residents. Experts warned that such high pollution levels pose serious health risks and that weather conditions offered little immediate relief.
