Data compiled from CPCB and CAQM monitoring shows that Delhi’s air quality in October improved compared to previous years. Average levels of key pollutants—including PM2.5, PM10, nitrogen dioxide, and ozone—saw a notable decline, with PM2.5 dropping to 67 µg/m³ compared to 108 µg/m³ last October.
However, expert point out that pollutant levels still regularly exceed national safety standards. Weather conditions such as wind speed, temperature, and humidity play a massive role in dispersing these pollutants, meaning air quality could still deteriorate rapidly as colder winter weather sets in and traps emissions near the ground.
