Data shows slight ‘dip’ in early-Nov pollution

Delhi’s first half of November showed a small drop in pollution, but the air was still very unhealthy. Experts say the lower numbers do not mean the air is cleaner. They believe the slight dip happened because of better weather, fewer crop burnings, delays in farming due to floods, and some missing data from monitoring stations. Stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana also reduced this year. However, Delhi still had many days with very poor or severe air quality, and scientists warn that pollution may rise again if winds slow down.
