Delhi govt orders commercial, office buildings to put anti-smog guns on rooftops
The Delhi government has issued an order mandating all commercial and office buildings with a ground coverage area of 5,000 square metres or more to install anti-smog guns (water mist cannons) on their rooftops. The directive is part of the revised Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to combat air pollution.
The rule aims to suppress dust and particulate matter at a localised level, especially during the upcoming winter season when pollution levels typically soar. The order requires buildings to have these systems functional by a specified deadline, warning that non-compliance could lead to penalties. This measure is one of several being rolled out by authorities to preemptively tackle the city's annual air quality crisis.
