Kerala now leads India in the share of personal electric four-wheeler vehicles, driven by strong middle-class demand, good charging infrastructure and supportive policies. In 2025, EV penetration in Kerala climbed to about 12 per cent from roughly 5 per cent in 2022, with 93.4 per cent of all EVs being personal vehicles. The state has 1,389 charging stations, helping everyday use. Two-wheeler EV sales are led by Ather, Bajaj and TVS, while Tata, MG and Mahindra dominate the electric car market. Kerala also ranks high overall in EV adoption, second only to Delhi in EV versus petrol/diesel vehicle ratios among major states.
