Govt identifies 62 chronic traffic choke points worsening city’s air

The Delhi government has identified 62 major traffic choke points across the city that are making air pollution worse. These spots see heavy traffic jams, especially during rush hours, because of problems like illegal parking, encroachments, and narrow roads. Around 20 of these problem areas are along the Ring Road. Officials say immediate measures such as clearing hawkers and wrong parking, improving traffic signals, and increasing public transport will begin soon. Long-term plans include redesigning roads and building new flyovers to ease congestion and cut pollution.
