New air monitoring stns goes live in Delhi, marginal impact on pollution readings

Delhi has switched on six new air-quality monitoring stations, increasing the total to 46. But early data shows they hardly change the city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) — only about one point difference so far. The new sites are in relatively cleaner, greener places, and haven’t yet been added to the official national system, so current AQI figures still use the older 40 stations. Officials say it’s too early to know if the extra monitors will make a real difference over time.
