October begins with a familiar air quality slide

Delhi's air quality slipped at the start of October, with the AQI rising from 129 ("moderate") on the last day of September to 166 on 1st October. The drop in air quality was driven mainly by coarse dust (PM10) due to dry weather and early crop-harvesting activities, though expected rain around 6–7 October could help clear the air.
