Pollution Budget cut even as high AQI continues to choke majority of India

India’s 2026–27 budget has cut funding for pollution control boards and clean-air programmes even though air pollution (AQI) remains a serious problem in many cities, including Delhi and others across the country. The budget did not specifically address air quality despite ongoing smog and health concerns.
