A new report shows that Rohatak recorded 16 days of severe air pollution this year, more than double last year’s count of 7. At the same time, stubble burning reduced significantly, with farmers burning 37 per cent less crop residue. This suggests that factors other than farm fires — such as vehicle emissions, construction dust and weather — are contributing to worsening air quality. Officials say continued efforts and stronger measures are needed to control pollution.
