Delhi is trying a new experiment to tackle its severe air pollution problem. The idea involves using “smog-eating” technology, which can chemically break down harmful pollutants when exposed to light.

This technology may be applied to surfaces such as roads or buildings so that it helps clean the surrounding air. Officials hope it could improve air quality in busy areas, but it is still in the testing stage.

Experts are cautious and say that while it might help locally, it is unlikely to solve Delhi’s pollution problem completely due to the city’s large size and high pollution levels.
