13 surveyors on GPS bikes to scan roads for dust hotspots

The Delhi government has started a new programme called Road RADAR to track road dust pollution across the city in real time. Thirteen surveyors on GPS-enabled bikes will travel around Delhi looking for pollution hotspots such as broken roads, construction dust, rubbish burning and uncovered waste. Officials say the information will help departments fix problems more quickly and improve air quality. Experts welcomed the move but said the data and follow-up action should be made public to ensure proper accountability.
