80% of Delhi-NCR families planning to move out amid severe pollution: survey

The survey covered 4,000 respondents across the region. Many families report frequent health problems — persistent coughs, irritated eyes, chest tightness, fatigue — which they link directly to pollution. A large number say they have needed medical care for pollution-related illnesses.

Pollution has also raised household expenses. Families say costs for masks, air purifiers, health care and other protection-related items have increased significantly.

Because of worsening air quality and constant health risks, many residents are now seeing relocation as the only viable option — a decision once unthinkable for those who originally moved to Delhi-NCR for opportunities.
