Every year after Diwali, Delhi-NCR faces severe pollution, and this time the government plans to create artificial rain through cloud seeding on October 29. Environmental expert Sunil Dahiya, founder of EnviroCatalysts, explained that this process uses chemicals like silver iodide, dry ice, or salt to make clouds release rain, but it is costly and temporary. He said the pollution may be reduced for only four to five hours and will soon return. Sunil added that the government should focus on long-term solutions, such as cutting emissions and controlling pollution at its source, instead of spending large sums on short-term fixes.
