A thick grey haze has engulfed Delhi, significantly worsening the city's air pollution.

The primary reasons for this sharp decline in air quality are smoke from farm fires in neighbouring states and residual firecrackers from recent festivals. This has caused the Air Quality Index (AQI) to jump by over 100 points, pushing it into the "Very Poor" category, which poses health risks to residents.
