Delhi : Capital Records Five-Year Low in Minimum Temperatures

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi has recorded its coldest November in five years, with the average minimum temperature between 1–29 November falling to 11.5 °C.

This marks a clear drop compared with recent years — for instance, November minimums had climbed from 11.9 °C in 2021 to 14.7 °C in 2024.

At one point this month, the temperature fell to as low as 8 °C — the lowest in three years — while daytime highs remained near 26.5 °C, close to seasonal norms.

The cold snap is said to be driven by factors such as persistent night-time humidity, reduced wind, and weather patterns that suppressed warming.

As winter deepens, residents should prepare for chilly nights, possible morning fog, and sustained cold spells in the coming days.
