Delhi Pollution: Stay indoors, wear N95 masks when outside, ensure ventilation
Delhi’s air quality has fallen to severe levels, prompting experts to advise people to stay indoors as much as possible and wear N95 masks when stepping outside. They have warned that closing windows completely can trap polluted air inside homes, so proper ventilation is important. Vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly and those with respiratory or heart conditions have been urged to avoid outdoor exercise. Experts have also stressed that while personal precautions are necessary during severe pollution episodes, long-term improvement will only be possible if pollution sources such as vehicle emissions, waste burning and excessive energy use are properly controlled through collective action.
