Delhi’s Nitrogen Dioxide Levels Triple the Safe Limit, Driven by Traffic Emissions

In New Delhi, levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) have reached three times the safe national limit, largely due to vehicle exhausts. Busy spots such as the Indira Gandhi International Airport and the ITO crossing are showing the highest readings — up to about 240 µg/m³. Experts say this gas spike raises risks of asthma, coughing and breathing difficulties — especially near roads with heavy traffic.
