GRAP rejig: SC allows stricter curbs to become part of lower stages of pollution in Delhi-NCR

The Supreme Court has approved stricter rules under the revised Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) to help control air pollution in the National Capital Region. The new plan brings tougher actions at earlier stages when air quality becomes poor. The court also asked authorities to consider closing schools, delaying sports events, and changing office timings to reduce pollution. It stressed that pollution control needs constant monitoring and that decisions should be taken with input from all stakeholders, including the public. The court will review the progress again in December.
