Why You Should Check Watch Before Stepping Out In Winter
The report says that in winter, Delhi’s pollution is not the same throughout the day. In November, the air is most polluted early in the morning until 9am. In December, pollution is worst from 9pm to midnight. Experts say this happens because cold temperatures and slow winds trap dirty air near the ground. Afternoons are usually cleaner. Data also shows that Delhi’s PM2.5 levels in winter are far higher than the safe limits set by Indian and global standards. The report warns people, especially those with health problems, to avoid stepping out during the most polluted hours.
