Over 1,500 polluting units shut in NCR: CAQM
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has mandated the closure of polluting industrial units in the National Capital Region (NCR) as a measure to control air pollution.
Result: Over 1,500 polluting units have been shut down across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (UP), and Rajasthan.
Target: The order specifically targets industries in the red and yellow categories that were engaged in polluting operations.
Context: The Supreme Court is currently monitoring the situation and has asked the Delhi government for an affidavit on implementing the emergency anti-pollution measures known as the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)
