PM2.5 in Ggm 5.5 times above safe limit

Gurugram’s air quality remained poor on Wednesday despite a slight improvement in its AQI, which stood at 350. The level of PM2.5 was 5.5 times higher than the national safe limit and nearly 15 times above the World Health Organization’s guideline. Pollution levels rose sharply between November 1 and 12, mainly due to vehicle emissions, construction dust, and waste burning. Authorities admitted that despite Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 3 restrictions, violations continued across the city. Officials said stricter monitoring and stronger enforcement are urgently needed to curb the worsening pollution.
