Punjab farmers recycle crop waste, aim to cut pollution
Farmers in Punjab are increasingly sending crop stubble to recycling units instead of burning it, aiming to reduce winter air pollution that often affects New Delhi. With support from the Confederation of Indian Industry, villages are adopting equipment to bale and transport stubble for conversion into biogas, fertiliser, and cardboard. While stubble burning has decreased slightly, experts say more awareness and sustained efforts are needed to fully address the issue.
