The Supreme Court has allowed limited sale and use of green firecrackers in Delhi and the NCR. The order follows multiple petitions seeking permission to manufacture and sell “eco-friendly” crackers during festive occasions. As it allowed green crackers for Diwali, the Supreme Court noted crackers were being smuggled into Delhi-NCR and cause more harm than green firecrackers.
