Delhi’s air quality worsened sharply on Sunday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 440, placing the city’s air in the most dangerous “severe” category. This marked the most polluted January day in the past two years. Calm winds, winter conditions and pollution build-up led to the hazardous air, making it difficult to breathe for many residents. The high AQI level also brought poor visibility and health concerns for people in the city.
