Delhi's Air Pollution Worst In India In October, But Stubble Burning Caused Just 10% Of It: Study

Delhi’s air was the worst in India in October, with very high pollution levels. A government study found that stubble burning (farm fires) only caused about 10 % of the fine particle (PM2.5) pollution during that period, meaning most of the dirty air came from other sources like traffic, vehicles, factories and local emissions. This shows that stubble burning is not the main reason for the city’s severe smog, even though overall air quality was extremely poor.
