At No 4, VinFast Racing Towards Podium Finish in India EV Market

Vietnamese car company VinFast has quickly become India's fourth-best-selling electric vehicle (EV) brand, six months after its launch there. It has sold over 1,100 cars, overtaking big names like Hyundai and BMW.

The article says this success is due to aggressive pricing of its mid-premium SUVs, which even caused a short price war with other brands. VinFast plans to grow fast by opening more showrooms, launching new models, and using its factory in Tamil Nadu as a manufacturing and export hub.

In comparison, Tesla has sold far fewer cars (259 units) in India, as it is focusing on a more limited, premium market.
