SC allows stricter pollution curbs in lower stages for Delhi-NCR

The Supreme Court has allowed tougher pollution rules to be applied at lower “stages” in the Delhi-NCR region. Stricter actions that were meant for the worst air conditions will now kick in earlier. The court wants schools to postpone outdoor sports in Nov and Dec, and supports limits on office attendance and staggered timings. It also asked authorities to improve public transport, reduce reliance on diesel generators, and work on pollution reduction all year.
