Why You May Be Finding It Tough To Breathe: Burning Of Fuel Pushes NO₂ To A 7-Year High

Delhi has recorded its highest nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) levels in seven years, mainly due to the burning of fuel by vehicles and industries. Areas such as ITO, Anand Vihar, Lodhi Road and Wazirpur have emerged as major hotspots. Experts warn that high NO₂ levels can cause breathing problems and worsen respiratory diseases, especially during winter when pollution gets trapped in the air.
