India's rapidly ageing truck fleet, with 42% of vehicles over 12 years old, is set to trigger a replacement-driven growth of 3-5% annually over the next five years.

Although vehicle registrations have increased in 2024–25, the number of electric vehicles remains low. Experts say the main reasons are the shortage of charging stations and a lack of public awareness.
